This is the privacy policy of ( SCL Sterling Careers Ltd) referred to as  ('we' or 'us' or 'our') .We are registered  and incorporated under the laws of the United Kingdom, our registered address is Churchill House, 120 Bunns Lane, Mill Hill, London NW7 2AS.

We gather and process your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and in compliance with the relevant data protection Regulation and laws. This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and our obligations and explains how, why and when we process your personal data.

Information That We Collect

Sterling Careers processes your personal information to meet our legal, statutory and contractual obligations and to provide you with our products and services. We will never collect any unnecessary personal data from you and do not process your information in any way, other than as specified in this notice.  We collect personal information from you:

through the use of forms, which may be on paper or on our Websites, such as when you provide your contact details during our career roadshows, login to access our Services, signup to receive our newsletters, register for information, or make a purchase or commence a course of study; if you choose to provide us with information when you use our Website or access our Services; when you communicate with us for any reason, including by email, postal mail or telephone, and when you use our Services.

when you visit our Website, we may collect certain information automatically from your device. Sterling Careers takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclose, share or sell your data without your consent; unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purpose(s) specified in this notice. Where you have consented to us providing you with promotional offers and marketing, you are free to withdraw this consent at any time.  We may use the information for the following purposes:

  1. to provide information on other SCL products and Services which we feel may be of interest to you, in accordance with your communications and consent preferences;
  2. to meet our contractual commitments to you;
  3. to act on your behalf where third party involvement is available and appropriate – for example through a third party specialist training provider or certification/awarding body;
  4. to monitor and analyse trends, usage and activities in connection with our Websites/Services; and as necessary to prevent or detect crime.

We may also monitor or record telephone calls for training, customer service and quality assurance purposes, and to detect or prevent crime, [and will inform you that we do so when you call us].  In general, we will use any of the information we collect from you only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or for purposes that we explain to you at the time we collect such information. If you access other websites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their own privacy policies which you should review. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them.

Transfers Outside the EU 

Sterling Careers utilise some products or services that may be hosted/stored in Australia and the USA which means that we may transfer any information which is submitted by you through the website outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). We are mindful of the privacy of our customers so we will ensure that all our service providers have secure systems and are GDPR compliant. 

Consequences of Not Providing Your Data

You are not obligated to provide your personal information to Sterling Careers , however, as this information is required for us to provide you with our services, we will not be able to offer some/all our services without it. 

How Long We Keep Your Data

Sterling Careers only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations. We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. In addition, recordings of telephone calls for training, customer service and quality assurance purposes will be retained for a maximum of 30 days. 

Where you have consented to us using your details for direct marketing, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise and/or withdraw your consent. 

Marketing

Sterling Careers will occasionally send you information about services, events and promotions by email that have been identified as being beneficial to our customers and in our interests. Such information will be relevant to you as a customer, non-intrusive and you will always have the option to opt-out/unsubscribe at any time.
